MONKEY FLIGHT
French Space , Project i (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) PARIS. October 31 Following in the “footsteps” of Hector the rat and Felix the cat, France now plans to send a monkey into space. The Astronautics! Medical Centre announced yesterday that a group of monkeys was being prepared in Paris and one would be rocketed into space next year. Previous animal shots have been made with Veronique rockets, but the Veronique would not be big enough to carry a monkey. The Topaze second stage of France's Diamant rocket might be used.
