FIJI BOY’S WIN

St. Andrew’s Scholarship For the first time, an applicant from outside New Zealand has won an entrance scholarship to St. Andrew's College. He is Scott Henderson, a pupil of Lautoka European School in Fiji, who sat the examination by post. The school had received pupils before from Fiji and the Gilbert and Ellice Islands, but no external scholarship wins had been recorded, the college rector (Mr 1,. T. Galloway), said yesterday. Entrance scholainlhips were won by Scott Henderson and Christopher Emerson (Grey Main School). The next candidates in order were Alastair J. Cocks (Eiffelton School) and lan R. Butcher (Cashmere Primary), The internal scholarship wa« won by P Barnett, the next candidates m order being D. Smith and M. Thompson.
