DRIVER SAT STILL

Truck Among Fallen Wires (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 1. After a truck ran into some fallen trolley bus wires in Pitt street, Auckland, this morning, the driver had to sit tight for 20 minutes while sparks jumped all round his vehicle. He was warned to stay in the cab while Auckland Transport Board linemen pulled the wires away. The wires came down at 730 am., reducing peak traffic to a crawl and baiting it completely for a while after two buses were involved in a head-on collision. Damage to the buses was slight.
