A fact-finding committee has been set up to inquire into the continued membership of the New Zealand Baptist Union with the World Council of Churches, the Baptist Assembly was told in Auckland today. The committee will study the advantages and disadvantages of retaining its membership. No report is expected until the meeting of the assembly next year, at the earliest. At present some national Baptist unions are on the World Council; others are not. Australia is not.
