TEST-BAN TREATY

U.N. Call For Acceptance

(NZPA-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, October 31

The Main Political Committee of the United Nations General Assembly today voted 97 to one for world acceptance of the Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty and another effort at Geneva to stop underground explosions. Albania cast-the lone negative vote.

Cambodia, which had previously announced it would not vote for the resolution, was among 10 delegations absent when the vote was taken.

The resolution’s key paragraph was clearly directed at France and China, which have not signed the Moscow Treaty, ft called upon all States to become parties to the treaty, and to “abide by its spirit and provisions.”
