Mudguards For All Vehicles

(NX Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 31. The Road Safety Council today decided to recommend that from July 1, 1965, all new vehicles, including trailers, must be fitted with mudguards, and that all vehicles must bq so equipped by July I, 1966.

The motor-vehicles subcommittee of the council also recommended that the required stopping distance under toe warrant of fitness requirements should be tightened up to require the vehicle to come to a stop within 30ft, instead of the present 35ft, from 20 miles an hour.
