Young Woman Charged

“The Press” Special Service DUNEDIN, October 31. Enid Halstead, aged 27, a fabric mender, was remended in the Magistrate’s Court today on a charge that at Lees road, Cliristchuirch, on September 26, she injured Janet May Jordan in such circumstances that if death had ensued she would have been guilty of manslaughter. Mr J. G. Warrington, Ski., on the application of Detective Senior-Sergeant K. J. Hamilton, remanded Halstead in custody to appear in the Magistrate’s Court at Christchurch on Monday. Halstead was not represented by counsel.
