Champagne Tasting
A special French champagne tasting function will be held in Auckland with Mr Andre L. Simon, founder and president of the Wine and Food Society, London, as a guest early next year. New Zealand sparkling wines will also be available for tasting. This was announced yesterday by Mr F. J. Thorne, president of the Auckland Wine and Food Society, I which is claimed to be the [only New Zealand society affiliated to Mr Simon's organisation. Mr Thorpe said the general manager of the I Tourist Hotel Corporation I (Mr E. C. CoJbeck) had {invited Mr Simon to be a guest for a week in a tourist hotel.—(P.A.)
