Yachting CANTERBURY COURT

Brothers In Semi-Finals

By winning the fifth heat of the national boat show sailing series at Addington last evening, Neville England, of the Christchurch Yacht Club emulated the performance of his elder brother, Garry, who had won the night before. The young Waimakariri skipper, John Bunker, led for half the first lap until overtaken by England, who dropped back after the first round. But England was quicker righting his boat after one of the compulsory capsizes and finished first comfortably. Bunker, who was passed by Grant Oborn, of Mount Pleasant, in the final round, finished third. A large crowd watched the race which was sailed in a light west wind. Elimination heats will continue until Saturday evening. Semi-finals will be sailed on Labour Day afternoon with the final that evening when a women's race will also be staged.
