Horse events, as well as being a feature of the Rangiora show on Saturday, will also be a major attraction at Rangiora on Labour Day, when the junior committee of the Canterbury Area, New Zealand Horse Society, will hold a South Island championship meeting. “Lady Rider of the Year” for 1962, Mrs Bruce Smith, is shown taking a jump on her Youillia. On Monday Youillia will be ridden by Miss Dianna Cunningham in the juvenile (under 21) championship. Miss Cunningham has twice won the national title and is a former winner of the under 17 section at the national pony club championships.
