Car On Fire

A new 1963 car. worth £1950, caught fire near the petrol tank while a towing bar was being fitted to it outside a garage in Southwark street at 1.56 pm. yesterday. A spark from a welding torch ignited spilled petrol Two fire engines from the headquarters fire station answered the alarm. The fire had been put out when the firemen arrived. The car, owned by Mr E. G. Rutherford. of Parnassus, was only slightly damaged.
