FUTURE OF MACMILLAN

Decision Early In New Year

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, October 21

The former Prime Minister, Mr Macmillan, intends to remain a member of the House of Commons during the present Parliament. He will make a decision about his future early in the new year. The 69-year-old statesman, now in hospital recovering from a prostate gland operation, disclosed this today to the chairman of the Bromley (Kent) Conservative Association, Aiderman Ralph Allen. Aiderman Allen, after visiting him in hospital today, said: "We are very happy with this decision. Mr Macmillan can keep his majority (as member for Bromley) but a new man might have some difficulty.”
