Mr Walter Nash visited the Minister for Education (Mr Tennent) who was admitted to hospital yesterday with a mild heart attack. Mr Tennent is progressing satisfactorily. Mr Nash is in Ku 'a Lumpur for the Commonwealth Parliamentary conference.—Kuala Luimpur. October 22.
Sir Leonard Wright, leader of the New Zealand trade mission, now in Honolulu, has been made a commodore of the Port of Los Angeles "in recognition of consistent and meritorious service and for his many commendable contributions to the development of world-wide merchant marine commerce." Los Angeles, October 22.
The Head of State of Western Samoa. Malietoa Tanumafili IL arrived in Auckland by air yesterday with his wife and a private secretary, Mr E. Stehlin. He will be in New Zealand for two to three weeks for medical treatment. —(P.A.)
Dr. Josef Nordenhaug, general secretary of the Baptist World Alliance, has suffered a heart attack in Australia and has had to cancel his tour of New Zealand.—(P.A.)
