MISS BELTON RETIRING

To Play Only Inter-Club (N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND. October 22. A leading New Zealand lawn tennis and badminton player, Miss P. Belton, of Auckland, has announced her retirement from major tennis and badminton. Miss Belton will marry next May and will not compete in the national tennis circuit this summer.

She will continue to play inter-club for West End and will play inter-club badminton next winter in Whangarei. She was runner-up for the women’s national lawn tennis singles in 1962 and was a member of the New Zealand women's team which toured Europe in the same year. She was ranked seventh at the end of last season.
