BURNHAM IN RECESS

Members Gone To Malaya Notification that the Burnham club had gone into recess because of lack of members, was received with regret at last evening's meeting of the Canterbury Swimming Centre. "All members of last year’s committee are now away or waiting to go to Malaya. This also applies to our club members. For this reason we are unable to provide a water polo team this season," the secretary of the club (Mr C. P. Dyson) said in a letter to the centre.

“We wish to continue with the club activities as much as possible with the view to building up again on the return from Malaya of families towards the end of this year.

“At present we have insufficient members to form a committee or a club, so in the meantime we would like to go into recess," Mr Dyson said. He assured the centre that the position would be reviewed at the beginning of the New Year.
