Godfrey Wins By 8 Shots (N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Oct. 20. Playing consistent golf throughout, the Auckland professional, W. J. Godfrey, won a £2OO 54-hole sponsored tournament at New Plymouth during the week-end. Godfrey was in second place at the end of the first day’s 18 holes with a par 72 to his fellow Auckland professional, N. D. Hayden’s 71. However. Godfrey took the lead with a fine 70 in the morning round today, and in the afternoon turned in a steady 71 to finish with 213, eight strokes clear of the second place-getter, a Stratford amateur. R.
