Wairakei Rd.-Idris Rd.

Sir, —The refusal of the Waimairi Counity Council to agree to the change in position of the “stop” sign at the Wairakei road-Idris road intersection is hard to understand. With a difference in traffic density of two and a half times to one—which is certain to increase—the change seems logical. Drivers would soon become accustomed to the changed position, whidh no doubt would be adequately signposted. To refuse to make a desirable change just because it is a change. indicates woolly thinking.—Yours, etc., W.F.L, October 20, 1963.
