Sugar Trading Control Sought
(N .ZPA-.-Reuter—Copyright) WASHINGTON, October 17. The request of the United States Agriculture Department for legislation to control trading in sugar on United States markets would be debated in Congress next year. Congressional sources predicted today. The Under-Secretary of Agriculture. Mr Charles Murphy, made tlie request because of “recent extreme fluctuations in the price of sugar futures,” the sources said. The request was too late for action this year.
