Waterside Sneezes
(IV Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Oct. 16. Watersiders had finished unloading No. 5 hold of the Kwangs! at Auckland today and were cleaning it out when they began to sneeze. The Waterside Workers’ Union walking delegate was called, and he also began to sneeze.
Samples of dust from the hold collected by a Health Department inspector are being analysed by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research to find the cause of the sneezing.
Ship Abandoned.— The 3043ton Australian coastal ship Belta-na has been abandoned to the underwriters by the owners, Adelaide Steamship Company. Ltd. An examination of the bull by marine surveyors revealed she was “a constructional total teas.” —Melbourne, October 16.
