Hurst, today Dean Hurst, who will be inducted tomorrow night st St. Paul’s Cathedral, defines "ecumaniacs" as church unity enthusiasts who "want to get together at any price.” He was secretary of the faith and order commission for three years. He said church unity had to come, but it would take time and patience. Forcing it would -merely create another divergent group. . Dean Hurst replaces Dean
W. E. D. Davies, who retired last year. He is returning to Wellington from Dunedin, having arrived here 25 years ago from Ireland. He did not think ’communism was a serious threat to the church in New Zealand. "The New Zealand Communist is a strange sort of person.
