Nurses’ Shoes

Two firms, one in the North Island and the other in the South Island, have responded to a complaint by Miss A. M. Pirrie, matron of Paparoa Hospital, who criticised the poor quality of nurses’ shoes at last month’s meeting of the Kaipara Hospital Committee in Dargaville. Miss Pirrie has received two pairs of shoes from one firm and one pair from another, all sent free so nurses could give them a trial. Miss Pirrie hopes to receive more brands to enable the nursing staff to begin together and obtain a true indication of which shoes give the best service.— (P.A.)
