N.Z. NOT TO BE DRAWN
Dispute Over S. Africa (NJt. Preu Association) WELLINGTON. October 16 The New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association has again refused to be drawn into the South Africa dispute. Under the present laws no mixed teams may represent South Africa at the Olympic Games, but a committee set up to press for the removal of racial barriers is endeavouring to obtain world-wide support. A letter from South Africa's Non-Raciai Athletics Committee was tabled at last night's meeting of the New Zealand association.
"It has been our policy in the past to keep out of this situation and leave it entirely to the IOC." said the acting chairman. Mr C L. S Cross “We know that our represereutive. Sir Arthur Porritt. is well aware of the position."
