Garry Dillon Should Win At Te Awamutu

NEWMARKET. Oct 10. Most races on the second day of the Te Awamutu Trotting Club's meeting on Saturday will again have full fields. The double will be on the Cardigan Bay Gold Cup and Waipa Handicap. Garry Dillon is expected to take the first leg, run over two miles, while Spencer, Young Mina and Swan Boy may fight out the second leg, over a mile and a quarter. The track should be good. Missed The Acceptances

Two Riccarton trainers, K. J. Thomson and J. C. Tom kinson. overlooked the closing time for acceptances for the first day ot the Wellington spring meeting

The horses concerned were Magician (Wellington Guineas), a member of Thomson’s team, and Zinder. Manana, and Hushaway. South Island representation in the Wellington Guineas wiH now be left to Boundless. Castle Air, St. Malo, and the Wingatui filly, Rondabelte. Magician may be sent north for the third day of the Wellington meeting. Races to suit him would be either the Pearce Handicap, one mite, or 'he weight-for-age Harcourt Stakes. His preparation for the New Zealand Derby will be advanced with a start in the main race at the Banks Peninsula meeting on November 2.
