(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 1. Consideration of proposals to establish a national soccer league has been held up because of the failure of associations to supply information requested. Tonight’s meeting of toe New Zealand Football Association council was told by its chairman, Mr J. Kershaw that only eight of the 22 associations had so far replied to a questionnaire on toe scheme. Mr G L. Whyte: “Something should be done about this. We gave toe associations a September 1 deadline.” Mr Kershaw said that some M toe larger associations had arranged to hold special general meetings to discuss toe scheme. Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury and Manawatu were taking this action, “There is nothing we can do until we get the information we want from more associations, especially toe larger ones,” said Mr Kershaw. He added Shat few constructive suggestions had been made by associations who had so far replied to the questionnaire.
