SAVE THE CHILDREN
Korean Help Appreciated “We really do appreciate what you have done for the Save the Children Fund in Korea and the ready response there has always been from New Zealand,” said the administrator of the fund in Pusan, South Korea (Mr S. R. Dawson), speaking to the North Canterbury branch of the Save the Children Fund yesterday afternoon. “We could do twice as much work as we are doing now if we had twice as much staff and space.” Mr Dawson answered questions asked by members of toe branch and told them of toe work being done in Pusan.
“I feel we must have reasonably soon a vocation school to train the children when they leave our care. We must have this if we are going to continue helping toe children until they can look after themselves,” he said. “As fair as I am concerned Pm going to do all I can to help pay for the training of as many children as possible in your vocational school.” said the president of toe North Canterbury branch (Miss M. G. Havelaar). “We will always help you and make Korea our first care.” Some money raised by the nurses ait toe Christchurch
Public Hospital was presented to Mr Dawson to give to a Christchurch nurse working for toe fund in Pusan (Miss E. Laloli) to use in her work to help children.
