WILMOT PASS ROAD
Bush Clearing Begun (N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL. Sept 12 Workmen have made a start on the 14-mile Wilmot Pass road which will link Deep Cove with the west arm of Lake Manapour i. The acting-manager of the Bechtel Pacific Corporation, the Government consultants on the Manapouri hydro-elec-tric scheme <Mr R. V, Core* said workmen today began clearing bush from the road line at the west arm. At the Deep Cove end work had begun on surveying. "Excavation of rock and dirt at the west arm for the road proper will begin next week.” Mr Core said
