WEDDING OF MODEL
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) GIBRALTAR, Sept. 11. April Ashley, the British model who was once a man, last night married 43-year-old Mr Arthur Corbett, -at the Gibraltar registry office. The marriage was 24 hours after the couple announced the wedding had been postponed and no new date set Miss Ashley, bom in Liverpool, Lancashire, 28 years ago as George Jamieson, underwent die last of a series of sex-change operations in Casablanca in 1960. Mr Corbett owns the Jacaranda nightclub at Marbella, on Spain’s “sun coast.” He is the heir of Lord Rowallan, who was Tasmania's Governor from 1959 until last April and is also a former Chief Scout.
