U.S. TEEN-AGE EVANGELISTS
A group of teen-agers from the United States will arrive in Christchurch at the end of nexit week. One of several "teen teams” sent round the world by the Youth For Christ movement, these five American college students aged between 17 and 20 will visit Christchurch for three days on the way to India, where they will spend four months. The three young men and two girls form an evangelistic team. An older Youth For Christ director travels with each team. The youths were selected in a nationwide talent contest. They have their own “teen” preacher, song leader, accompanist, trumpeter, French horn player, violinist and trombonist. At present the team is in the Wellington district, and will make its first appearance in Christchurch on September 21, at the Salvation Army Citadel and at some place on Sunday afternoon. On Sunday evening the team will split and be at the Colombo street and Opawa Baptist churches. The final rally will be on September 23, in the concert chamber of the Young Men’s Christian Association.
