“ONE FOOT AT THE POLE”

Braille Edition Planned

A Braille edition of “One Foot at the Pole,” by the New Zealand author Jim Henderson, describing his visit to Antarctica in 1961, will soon be available for blind readers. Whitcombe and Tombs, Ltd., has just been given permission to publish the book, and the work of translating it into Braille will be done voluntarily by Mrs E. J. Walker, of Johnsonville, Wellington. Mrs Walker's mother was a pioneer teacher of the blind in New Zealand.

It is not known at this stage how many copies of the book will be printed or exactly when it will be available. It will be printed in Wellington.
