Injuries Delayed Canterbury Team
Injuries to four Canterbury players— W. F. McCormick, D. A. Arnold, P. H. Clarke and J. Francis—will delay selection of Canterbury s team to play Otago at Lancaster Park on Saturday until Thursday evening after the team’s final training run.
McCormick received a kick on his leg in the match against Marlborough and had to have one stitch inserted after the game. He did not train last evening. Arnold and Clarke, who have bruised leg muscles, did
some jogging, and Francis, who has a shoulder injury, also did some running. McCormick and Arnold, who will take part in the AU Black trials in Wellington on September 18, will have a fitness test tomorrow evening before a final decision is made on their playing against Otago.
