LECTURES ON ORCHESTRA

Eight-Week Course In Ashburton Ashburton music-lovers will be able to attend a series of eight lectures on the orchestra and its instalments during the next university term. The programme has been arranged by the Adult Education Department of the University of Canterbury, and will commence on Monday, September 9. The tutor for the course will be Mr Lloyd G. Peach. He will cover all sections of the orchestra, strings, woodwind. harp, piano and pipe organ, percussion, and brass in separate lectures, followed by a discussion of the orchestra as a symphonic unit Films and tape recordings ..will supplement the lectures.
