Safe Containing £230 Stolen

(N.Z Press Association) DUNEDIN, Sept. 8. Burglars forced three doors to steal a safe containing £229 4s lOd from the manager’s office of the St. James Theatre in Moray place, last night. An attempt was made to blow the safe, but when this failed the intruders carried away the safe, which weighs more than 1001 b and is 16in by 16in by 24in. Detective Inspector F. A. Gordon said it did not appear as if the explosives had been used by an expert.
