AFRICANS AT LINCOLN
Holidays At Alexandra Four Tanganyikan students had completed their courses in the diploma of agriculture, Dr. M. M. Burns, principal of Lincoln College, told the college council yesterday. He said they would be working on North Island dairy farms until the results of their examinations were known. Dr. Burns said that all African students would be guests of the Alexandra Junior Chamber of Commerce for part of the August vacation. "The extending of hospitality to overseas students is valuable to the students and much appreciated by them and by the college,” said Dr. Burns. “They have received considerable assistance from the public, who have employed them and given them a chance to learn something of New Zealand rural life.” Loan To ■ India.— Britain will give India a long term loan of £lO million under an agreement signed in New Delhi yesterday. The loan, to be repaid over 25 years, will be used to buy British goods. —New Delhi, Aug. 27.
