Twisted For 78 Hours
(N.Z. Press Association) TAURANGA, August 27. With only 24 hours to go to beat the New Zealand and world twist record of 102 hours, the eventual winner in Tauranga’s twist marathon, Winston Katu, collapsed at 5 a.m. today. He had twisted for 78 hours and beaten his woman rival. Huia Waaka, by three hours. His two rivals, Amelia Clark, aged 14, dropped out at 3'p.m. yesterday, and Huia Waaka at 1 a.m. today.
