Chemicals New N.Z. Industry
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug 26. The manufacture of polymer dispersions for many uses is to start at New Plymouth as the result of an arrangement between German and New Zealand companies. These chemicals have not previously been manufactured in New Zealand. Polyvinyl acetate dispersions are used in the manufacture of adhesives and paints for paper-coating and a variety of other purposes.
Pedestrian Struck by Car. —A pedestrian Mr Trevor Farrell, of 4' Beckenham street, suffered leg injuries When he was struck by a ear outside 287 Colombo street at 7.45 pun. yesterday, Mr Farrell was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where he was admitted. His condir.iton late last evening was satisfactory.
