Motor Racing FERRARIS IN TOP PLACES
Narrow Win For Hill (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) GOODWOOD, August 25. The world champion racing driver, Graham HUI. narrowly won the Tourist Trophy race in a Ferrari at Goodwood, Sussex, on Saturday.
His margin of victory over M. Parker, in another Ferrari, was only two car lengths, or twofifths of a second in a race of more than 300 miles. Third and fourth were Roy Salvador! and Jack Sears in two E-type Jaguars, a lap behind. The Ferraris rounded off their domination by winning the team prize. Hill also took the grand touring class lap record with a time of Imin 27.45ec (98.85 miles an hour)—one second faster than the old record.
The New Zealand driver, Denis Hulme, finished third in a 120-mile race for the British Automobile Racing Club Formula Junior championship. The winner, Peter Arundell (Britain), drove a Lotus Ford and led throughout. Hulme, driving a Brabham Ford, was 2.2 sec behind R. Attwood (Lola Ford), who was second.
