Fell From Launch

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 25. A fisherman fell off his launch and was drowned at Tairua on Friday night He was: Bertram Magnus Sandos, aged 62. married, of Mount Maunganui. Police said tonight that Mr Sandos, a former New Zealand rowing representative had gone on deck to secure the buffers holding his launch off the Tairua wharf. He fell overboard and was swept away by the strong tide. Searchers found his body on Saturday.

Missing Vehicles.—A 1935 Morris 8 car, painted bluegrey. taken from a garage in Gloucester street on August 14, has not been recovered. The number is 710912. A 1954 B.S.A. 350 c.c. motor-cycle, painted maroon, taken from th* Addington Workshops on Tuesday evening, is still missing. The number is 44-696, and it has a windshield and two leather saddlebags.
