OLYMPIC MEETING
Kenya Stays By Decision (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) NAIROBI. Aug. 20. The Kenya Government reaffirmed yesterday it would not allow South Africans into its territory to appear before the International Olympics Committee which is due to meet in Nairobi in October. If the committee tries to ban Kenya from the Olympic Games the latter would ask “all free African countries to boycott the Olympic Games,” a Kenyan statement said. The committee gave Kenya 10 days in which to change its mind after the first announcement barring the South Africans. The 10 days expired yesterday. The statement said: ’’The reason for the refusal to allow representatives from South Africa is because of the discriminatory way in which the delegation is constituted.” It added that Kenya’s action “is dictated purely by a decision taken at the Addis Ababa conference of independent African states.”
