FACTORY VISITS
Manufacturers Thanked A letter thanking the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Associaition for its co-operation in arranging tours of Christchurch factories for the senior British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand (Mr J. Reading) and the British Trade Commissioner for the South Island <Mr A. Vine) was received from Mr Vine by the association's council on Monday. The letter thanked the association for its assistance in airranging the three days of tours and said: “As we have often said we fully recognise New Zealand’s need for a strong, efficient, and growing secondary industry, and indeed look forward to its continued development as a direct customer for us and as a major contributor to the prosperity of the country, in which again, we have a strong permanent interest. “We have been pleased this week to see so much evidence of the participation by British manufacturers in the development of New Zealand industry, and hope we can ourselves find ways of helping or encouraging this copartnership in the future,” the letter said.
