Ashburton Club (From Our Own Reporter) ASHBURTON. August 19. The Ashburton Trotting Club lost £ll4B last year, after allowing £1644 for depreciation, says the president. Mr A. J. Nicoll, in his annual report Stakes distributed during the year amounted to £20.185, compared with £19.845 the previous year Totalisator turnover oncourse on the club's meetings dropped last year, but the off-course turnover rose substantially.

On - course turnover amounted to £193,588. compared with £224.311 10s, and off-course turnover was £270,455 15s. compared with £179.064 15s. Taxation amounted to £44.164 No ballot will be necessary this year to elect the club’s officers. The nominations did not exceed the number of officers required Thev were:—Preaident. Mr A. J Nicoll: vice-presidents. Messrs J Cocks and N. Robilliard: treasurer. Mr A. A. McDonald; committee. Messrs R. J Bruce. T. W. Gudsell and W G Todd.
