Steady Increase In Loading It was reported to the morrthly meeting of the Cantrail Canterbury Electric Power Board that there had been 196 extensions carried out during the month, giving a net increased loading of 1358 kw. The Lmcoln substation had been supplying up to two megawait's since July 4. reported the engineer-manager <Mr S. E Slatterf. In this petted the protective equipment seemed to have been effective. A recently - comple ed 33kv spur line to the RoMeston sub-station had been enlivened on August 4 and if tea's were satiisfaototy this sub-station would be taking up load immediately. Because of high waiter level reconstruction at Leeston it had been postponed until laiter in the year. A new pole sub-sta'fon is Lake read would be connected shortly Tests had been mede of rhythmatic signal strengths at Akaroa and as a result the output of the Brookside plant had been increased. Tests had also been taken to determine whether the Brookside plant could be operated from the high tension phone lane and the results gave reasonable hope of success. Report ling on the finances, the secretary-manager (Mr V. G. Mason) said that the power fund had a credit of £16.637 at the beginning of the month and total receipts had been £121,220, the prin'cipel contributing item being sales of current, goods, and sundries at £105.424. The month had concluded with a credit of £7333.
