Punters made the wrong filly favourite When they sent the New Zea la nd-bred Ripa out first choice in the First Waratah Handicap at Caulfield yesterday. Downswept. the winner, had the better recent form, but she was neglected in favour of Ripa. Downswept lengthened from J/l fo H/4. Ripe started a solid favourite a 4 5/4. With a brilliant exhibftkxi of speed, Downswept won her fourth race in succession. She won by four lengths and was being eased down. R!pa was six lengths clear of Taquiner <5O/1). which shaded Frail tor third.
