Test Captain Out

SPRINGS, August 18. South Africa has dropped its captain and hooker, Abe Malan. in making eight changes for the third < Rugby test against Australia at Ellis Park, Johannesburg, next Saturday. Australia won the second test, 9-5, at Newlands. Cape Town, earlier this month. South Africa won the first test, 14-3. The second-row forward, Avril Malan, who led the South Africans on their 1960-61 tour of the British Isles and France, has been restored as captain.
The team Is: L. Wilson. G. Celllers, D. Stewart, J. Gainsford, J. Engelbrecht, N. Riley, N. Smith, S. Kuhn. R. Hill. J. Marais, J. Schoeman, Avril Malan. S. van der Merwe, T. Bedford, S. Prinsloo. Abe Malan has been replaced by Hill, while the vice-captain in the second test, K. Oxlee, also loses his place, to Riley. The other changes are Smith for P. Uys, Celllers for M. Roux, Stewart for M. Wyness, Marais for R. Putter, Schoeman for Nel, and Prinsloo for D. Hopwood.
