The South African Government will transfer civil administration to the Transke —destined to become the first aL-African "Baotustan," in October.
Elections will be held to the Transkei in November to give the territory selfgovernment under the Government’s “separate development” „ policy for Africans Until Africans have been trained as heads of departments and for certain other senior posts in the Transke! the poets will be filled by white officials About three-quarters of the civil adminstration jobs will be filled by Africans, it has been officially announced.
