POSITIONS AT TUNNEL
Supervisor From Auckland
Mr W. A. Wheldale. a supervisor of the Auckland harbour bridge, was appointed tunnel superintendent by the Christchurch - Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority yesterday.
The authority also appointed Mr L. E. OHiver, of Christchurch, maintenance engineer at Motor Assemblies. Ltd., .maintenance superinte dent.
Ten applicants for each position were interviewed before the appointments were made. There were more than 80 applicants for the position of tunnel superintendent and more than 30 for the main-, tenance position. Mr Wheldale will take up his duties on October 1 and Mr Olli ver will begin work a month later.
