Miss Industry

Canterbury’s “Miss Industry” will be announced on the evening of August 31, the last day of the fair.

The contest, which is being run by the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association in conjunction with the fair, will feature two heats, on the evenings of Thursday, August 22, and Saturday, August 24, and a semi-final on the evening of Wednesday, August 28. Over 30 of the province’s top beauties have entered for this contest, which will be judged by a panel under the chairmanship of Mr R. S. Scott.

Prizes for the lucky “Miss Industry” will include a return trip to Australia, a free wardrobe, and £5O spending money.
