Soccer RELEGATION DECISION

Nomads Meet Technical Rivals for relegation, Christchurch City and Technical Old Boys, will know’ tomorrow which club will be playing in the lower grade next season. Held in the balance for several weeks while Nomads have been engaged in cup matches, the Hurley Shield competition will be completed in the opening game at English Park when Nomads, already the titleholders, meet Technical, the bottom club.

Only a win can save Technical from the drop into the first division. The club is one point behind City and has a decidedly inferior goal average, so that a drawn result would be of no avail.

While Nomads were winning their South Island Chatham Cup final against Northern at Dunedin last Saturday, Technical ended a long run without victory by beating the dogged NewBrighton side, 2-1. in the last round of the O'Brien’s tournament. Technical have most to play for, but Nomads will not take the match lightly. At stake is an unbeaten record against Christchurch teams this season.
