Table Tennis Three More Wins For Armstrong

Eagles retained second place when they beat Star, 15-14, in the thirteenth round of the Canterbury senior table tennis tournament on Wednesday. J. Armstrong (Eagles) was again the dominating player and he retained his unbeaten record with another three convincing singles victories.

The Canterbury women's open champion, Miss F. Inglis, reversed last Saturday’s result with the South Island champion, Mrs M? J. Shadbolt, and won in straight games. Two Strong Sides

After a very even contest between two strong sides. University shaded Linwood by 16 games to 15. D. J. Kalin (University), with three outstanding Wins over more experienced opponents, paved the way for his side’s fine victory. £>. D. M. Stewart (University) was a surprise failure, losing all his singles games.

Wallabies Green went down to Selwyn I, 3-9, after a contest which featured only an average standard of play. With T. R. D. Flint again having trouble with his left leg muscle, Wallabies Red had no trouble beating Selwyn 11, 10-2. Results were:— Star 14, Eagles 15
