Two Houses Sold By Auction
A semi-two-storey bungalow at 266 Innes road, St. Albans, was sold for £4OOO at public auction yesterday. The property was offered on account of the trustees of the late Mrs O. G. Gardner by Mr D. Chapman. The initial bid was £3500. There were four bids of £lOO, and two of £5O. The house has three bedrooms. lounge, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and laundry. There is also a garage on the section of 27.7 perches. The rates are £42 Offered on account of the estate of Mr L. F. Berkett, a house at 26 Riccarton road was sold for £2600. The auctioneer was Mr A. E. Barrell The opening bid was £2OOO. There were three bids of £lOO, and six of £5O.
The house, recently redecorated and modernised, has three bedrooms, lounge, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and laundry. The Government valuation is £2475.
