Traditions Change In Japan Modern Japanese women are concerned about their tegs, according to Miss Teruko Watanabe, a Japanese fashion expert visiting
“For many generations the women of Japan have literally sat on their legs, producing a tendency to bow legs. But now tradition has been changed under modern influence. Now that women sit on chairs and wear shorter skirts, legs are becoming more shapely.’’ Miss Watanabe said recently. This was why Japanese women wore their skirts slightly longer than New Zealand women. No chances were taken on the slow course of nature —Japanese women exercised their legs vigorously, and aided the camouflage with seamless nylons to medium to dark shades.
